Who doesn't want to be comforted by #2die4GourmetSoup when walking in from the cold? Especially this winter! We would recommend the normal times while cooking soup in a slow cooker. Of course, most slow cookers have two settings a low and a high. Right?
Generally speaking, soups are cooked on high for 3-4 hours (depending on type of slow cooker) and on low 6-8 hours. Of course, we would not recommend a noodle soup in the slow cooker. Also, with most of our soups, if choosing to cook in a slow cooker ~ we would add an additional cup of liquid, for example- water, tomatoes, Clamato, v8, beer, wine etc. . Also, if adding coconut milk or milk adding in the last hour would be a guideline. We really do recommend utilizing the stove top method for a fast go-to-meal. Many of our soups are cooked and eatten within an hour ~ due to this easy feature of just adding to 8 cups of water and choice of vegetable or protein or great just by itself! Adding in your favourite vegetable or protein may make it more stew-like too! If you like your soup to be less thick always add more of the above liquids as per appropriate to each soup. Hope this helps in your meal success. Bon appetite! Jennifer
